IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE PDC SECRETARY
FIDE Completes Successful Federation Funding Programme 2019
As promised by FIDE President, Arkady Dvorkovich, FIDE has delivered on it promise to assist National Chess Federations, NCFs, with their development programmes. To date, 75 federations, across all continents, have benefitted from the Development Fund to assist in the attainment of their operational plans and objectives. Additional details can be found on the PDC website at pdc.fide.com http://pdc.fide.com/ under PDC Activities https://pdc.fide.com/federations-approved-or-funding/.
Any new requests for funding will be deferred and considered under the 2020 programme. As per the formal FIDE-NCF agreement, Federations will be required to provide interim reports on their activities and the utilisation of the funds, which fulfils the monitoring aspect of this programme by October 31, 2019 and the final reports by January 2020.
During the next 2 months the PDC will use the preliminary data gathered to evaluate the overall effectiveness of the programme and make recommendations for the 2020 edition. The results of this evaluation will be made available by the end of 2019.
FIDE thanks all federations for their cooperation with the PDC in fulfilling the requirements of this new and important funding process and looks forward to continued collaboration as it seeks to build a culture of improved accountability and transparency.
