PDC CONTINENTAL MEETING- MÉXICO 2022

On February 13, the first continental meeting of the FIDE Planning and Development Commission (PDC) was held. The event was attended by the President of FIDE Mr. Arkady Dvorkovich, Mr. Victor Bologan (FIDE Executive Director), Mrs. Dana Reizniece-Ozola (FIDE Managing Director), Mr. Jorge Vega Fernández (CCA President), Mrs.  Sonja Johnson (PDC Chair), Fidel Gonzalez Chirino (PDc Councillor-America) and representatives of 32 countries, 3 of which attended virtually.

During the meeting, the status of the development fund in America during the years 2019 to 2021 was presented; as well as the FIDE 2022 projects. One of the most productive moments was the participation of several delegates, who made proposals for chess development across the Continent in a unified and collaborative manner.

The event was held at Hotel del Prado, Ciudad de México; and ended with a dinner at Cultural Complex Los Pinos, under the auspices of the Mexican Chess Federation, represented by Mr. Mario Ramírez Barajas.

The Planning and Development Commission will utilise the rich feedback and suggestions shared during the meeting to create programmes and initiatives to support the federations development in America and others throughout FIDE.
